ADFB Statement of Faith

1. The Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, the infallible rule of faith and conduct for the Assembly in general and the believer in particular.

2 Timothy 3:15–16; 2 Peter 1:21

2. The unity of the one and only God, true and living, eternally self-existent: the “I Am” who revealed Himself as one in three persons.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Exodus 3:14; Matthew 28:19; John 3:28

3. The fall of man created pure and innocent, but fell into sin through voluntary transgression.

Genesis 1:26–31; 3:17; Romans 5:12–21

4. Salvation through Jesus Christ who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Redemption is obtained through His blood.

Romans 10:8–12; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Titus 3:5–7

5. Baptism by immersion commanded for those who have repented and received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:17–48

6. Baptism in the Holy Spirit, the initial sign of which is speaking in tongues.

Acts 2:4, 8; Acts 10:44–46; Acts 19:6

7. Holiness in life (thought, speech, conduct) in obedience to the divine command “be holy”

1 Peter 1:15–16; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 12:14; 1 John 2:6

8. Divine healing, that is, deliverance from sickness obtained through the sacrifice (*without opposing medicine).

    Mark 16:18

9. The Lord’s Supper or Communion, in both elements, commanded for all believers until the return of the Lord.

Luke 22:14–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–24

10. The second coming of Jesus, the premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, the blessed hope set before every believer.

1 Corinthians 15:20–24; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–17

11. Eternal punishment for those whose names are not written in the Book of Life.

Matthew 25:46; Revelation 11–15

12. The gifts of the Holy Spirit and various ministries according to the New Testament.

Ephesians 4:11–12; 1 Corinthians 12:12–18

We accept the entire Bible as the inspired Word of God and remain rooted in evangelical faith, rejecting modernism, higher criticism, new theology, and anything that seeks to undermine faith in Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God. We reject all forms of extravagance and fanaticism, and we proclaim the full Gospel in its simplicity, its eternal power, and our absolute trust in all scriptural declarations.
